Transferring Credits
As the Distance Education Provider for Vanguard College, we work closely with the Office of the Registrar at Vanguard to ensure that we properly assess students’ transcripts from other institutions and award them the credits they deserve towards IBOLT programs.

As a member of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), Vanguard has agreed to transfer criteria from other ABHE accredited institutions. Students may also transfer credit from non-ABHE accredited institutions, however these tend to be more involved and may take longer as more research is required. Such cases are handled on an individual basis.

Vanguard College also enters into unofficial agreements with various discipleship programs and non-accredited colleges that set out transferability of credits between those schools. For more information on this, contact the IBOLT office and speak with the Managing Director.

Life and Ministry Credits
Some individuals who have already demonstrated longevity in ministry and a calling on their lives may also be eligible for Life and Ministry credits.  This process undertakes to match up a person's experience with specific requirements in a given course.  This process is not open to all individuals and strict requirements must be met before consideration may be given to an individual.  Generally 6-9 credits may be awarded to an individual based on related experience and the chosen IBOLT program.  For more information, you can contact the Managing Director of IBOLT or the Office of the Registrar for Vanguard College.

Transferring Credits from IBOLT
Credits earned through IBOLT are awarded by Vanguard College.  As an accredited member of the ABHE, those credits are transferable to all other ABHE accredited schools.  In all cases, it is the receiving institution that determines whether or not the course being transferred in meets al the requirements of the course that it will replace in the curriculum.  Because of this, IBOLT recommends that students contact use for a copy of the course overview for the class they wish to take and present it to their home institution for approval prior to enrolling in the course.

Credits may also be transferred to non ABHE accredited institutions as well.  It is the receiving institution that will determine the 'transferability' of a course and make a final ruling on the matter.  In these cases, IBOLT will provide the requested documentation, when possible, to assist a student in presenting their credits to an institution for transfer.
