Distance Education Course: Beginning with the Reformation, through the period of the Enlightenment, trace the impact and decisions of historical people and events.

Course Description: Beginning with the Reformation, through the period of the Enlightenment and into the Twentieth Century. Students will be exposed to the historical forces that created many of our current denominations and underlines our cherished theologies. We will explore various movements within this period such as the Missions/Pietism movement and the Pentecostal/Charismatic component of Christianity. Attention will be given to a full understanding of our roots and an appreciation of those God has used before us to shape and mold the Church into what it is today.

Biography: Burton K. Janes lives in Newfoundland where he is the Managing Editor of Good Tidings, the official publication of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland & Labrador, & Archivist with the denomination. He and his wife, Sherry, live in Bay Roberts with their children, Krista & Christopher, & their border collie, Madisyn.
