Distance Education Course: Philosophy of Leadership grounded in servant leadership provides enduring meaning and purpose in any leadership context.

Course Description: Serving others is at the heart of Christian leadership. With this ideal at the center of this course, Philosophy of Leadership introduces the student to some of the major themes and issues in leadership today. This course explores biblical and contemporary definitions of leadership, issues in leadership style and the unfolding role of leaders in Christian ministries. Of particular importance in this course is the exploration personal mission, influence, setting priorities and developing community.

Biography: Catherine and her husband Alan along with their homeless cat (who now has a home) live in Edmonton Alberta, while their son enjoys life in beautiful BC. Catherine is currently a Corporate Chaplain for a national manufacturing company, an associate pastor as well as a REMAX realtor.

Her previous experience has included corporate business consulting, speaker for leadership seminars, manager and creator of a youth and children’s ministry that required over 20 staff and 90 volunteers for Hope Mission, and an overseer’s teacher in Tanzania and the Ukraine Biblical Colleges.

Part of her philosophy of teaching is coaching students through the learning path to facilitate development in their educational, relational and character processes. Catherine’s laugh is one you will never forget and on a hot summer day, she loves Diet Pepsi.
