Distance Education Course: Effective youth ministry, philosophy of ministry to develop strategies for programming youth events and discipling today’s teens.

Course Description: Establishing and maintaining an effective youth ministry in a local church requires a biblical philosophy of ministry that is worked out in a carefully designed strategy including small and large group programming. This course provides the student with the necessary skills to evaluate the effectiveness of a youth group, craft a philosophy of youth ministry, and establish the necessary structures to disciple teens.

Biography: Tyson has been involved in youth ministry in one form or another since 1999. This has included one year discipleship programs, youth pastoring and teaching youth ministry at Vanguard College. Currently one of his highlights is running a new junior high program in the church he pastors. In all of these different context the goal has been the same; introducing people to Jesus and seeing them become more like Jesus.
