Distance Education Course: Compassionate and informed pastoral care for youth-related social issues encompasses the heart of this course.

Course Description: Responding with competence and compassion to the myriad of pastoral and social issues associated with contemporary youth work is the focus of this course. Emphasis will be placed upon the relationship between developmental issues and emerging challenges presented by youth culture. Further, this course will examine the role of the youth worker, minister, or pastor and critical issues that relate to their role in the lives of adolescents.

    Instructor:  Tyson Howells

Biography: Tyson has been involved in youth ministry in one form or another since 1999.  This has included one year discipleship programs, youth pastoring and teaching youth ministry at Vanguard College.  Currently one of his highlights is running a new junior high program in the church he pastors.  In all of these different context the goal has been the same; introducing people to Jesus and seeing them become more like Jesus.
